Extended support for climate initiatives - The ‘Klimatklivet’ initiative is part of the state budget that the Swedish Parliament agreed for 2017. Since 2015 over SEK 1 billion has been allocated to local climate investments, and by 2020 a further SEK 700 million per year will be handed out.
Wibax Biofuels AB is now ISCC-certified for sustainably produced biofuels. Wibax has further increased its expertise within bio-oils, and so it is good to have that confirmed by this ISCC certification. This makes it even easier for our customers to buy products from us.
The terminal in Norrköping is strategically important for Wibax. We are expanding the cistern park with a further four cisterns for storage of bio-oil.
Wibax is working to achieve sustainable development, optimum utilisation of resources and the best alternatives from an environmental perspective. An important part of this work is efficient logistics solutions, where we work actively for fossil-free transportation.
We have now received an environmental licence, which means that the plant will be able to store various chemicals. In total there are 10 cisterns at the Wibax terminal in Skutskär.
As tax subsidies for the use of fossil fuels decrease, it becomes more worthwhile to review other options. Fossil fuels are the biggest source of greenhouse gas emissions. According to a proposition from 2008, the aim is to phase out all fossil fuels by 2030 and that there should be no net emissions of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere by 2050. From a climate and environmental point of view conversion provides a reduction of CO2 emissions by up to 95%.
